School trips are some of the most memorable parts of education—but behind every successful trip is a surprising amount of chaos.

Spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups, printed schedules, last-minute changes, missing information…
If you’ve ever planned or led a school trip, you already know.

TripControl was born out of that exact frustration.

The Problem

As a teacher, I found myself constantly switching between tools:

Messaging apps for communication
PDFs for schedules
Notes for important details
Emails for updates

It worked—but not well.

Information got lost. Students missed updates. And as a teacher, you never really had a clear overview of everything happening during the trip.

The Idea

The idea behind TripControl was simple:

What if everything related to a school trip could exist in one structured, easy-to-use platform?

One place for:

Schedules
Communication
Tasks
Locations
Safety information

And most importantly—something that works for both teachers and students.

The Process

TripControl didn’t start as a finished product. It started as a series of small improvements.

First, I mapped out the real needs from actual trips:

What information do students actually use?
When do problems usually happen?
What do teachers need quick access to?

From there, I began building a system focused on clarity and structure rather than complexity.

Throughout development, one principle stayed constant:

If it doesn’t make the trip easier in practice, it doesn’t belong in the app.

This meant removing unnecessary features, simplifying workflows, and focusing on what truly matters—communication, structure, and safety.

Where We Are Now

TripControl is currently in its pilot phase, being tested in real school environments.

The goal now is to refine the experience based on real feedback:

What works well?
What needs to be simpler?
What’s missing?

Looking Ahead
